Initial Stocks

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

This is my first blog. I want to share my thoughts, opinion and my experience in investing/trading in our stock market. I started investing in stocks exactly one year ago, I specifically chose GMA7, EDC, and SMPH at that time. Basically, I choose them for some reasons, GMA7, because I think that time that they will earn a lot of money from political ads for the upcoming 2010 elections, and their stocks will shoot up, maybe, you want me to ask why not ABS? of course, I also have ABS but I didn't choose it as my initial holding because I want to diversify my holdings into several businesses and owners, since ABS and EDC are controlled by Lopez family, I choose GMA7 as my media stock. Next EDC, I choose it because of Deutsche recommendation to buy this stock and I also observed that this stock is one of the most traded stock in our market. I don't know why, but it seems to me, there is something on this stock, I want to speculate as well. hahaha. Well of course, I did some research on this stock, I find it interesting because of its business in power generation and my assumption at that time that this would be one of the profitable company in the long run, maybe in 5 or 10 years. and lastly, SMPH, same as with EDC, SM malls will be as big as Walmart in the future especially Sy is now expanding its presence in China.
